Meet the Family
Horseshoe Park is home to six ponies, two horses, our new foal, and a variety of native wildlife that come to visit. We currently have 4 ponies in service and one on maternity leave.
Our ponies are very friendly and well-behaved. They were selected due to their pleasant, patient, and reliable nature. They love the attention they recieve at events and enjoy the company riding provides.
Each pony undergoes rigorous training, from basic lead work to extensive desensitisation training. They also recieve specific training for the type of events they will attend, making them well prepared and familiar with the particular demands of different environments.
We carefully assess clients needs and allocate ponies according to rider size and ability. We have ponies to suit all sizes and ability, including a miniature pony for the littlest riders, medium sized ponies for older kids and a large sized pony for big kids and adults.
8hh Miniature Pony
Maximus is so little and cute, he's a real sweetie. Suitable for very small children to ride, he is very slow and steady. He loves attention and a day out, where ever we take him!
10hh Miniature Horse
Chi-Ko has the sweetest temperament, he is very gentle and loves cuddles. He's suitable for beginners and adapts well to on and off the lead riding lessons. Chi-Ko also loves to dress up for parties!
11hh Welsh Pony
Misty is very pretty and a real stand out at corporate events. During lessons, she's a bit more forward moving than Chi-Ko, so a good step up when you’re ready to advance to faster work.
12hh Part Bred Welsh Pony
Trixy is a stunning Buckskin and is very popular with the older children. She has a gentle and tolerant nature and takes the chaos of excited children in her stride.
Pluto is much bigger than the other ponies, making him suitable to be ridden by all ages. He's slow paced and great for beginners to learn on. He's also suitable for intermediate riders and adapts well to the increased demands of riding at an intermediate level.
We have a new addition to our family at Horseshoe Park. Zhali is a first cross Andalusian and is anticipated to reach 15h in height. Andalusian's are known for their high intelligence and easy going temperament.
What Customers Say
A great place for young riders to start out. I took my girls here when they were 5 and 4 respectively, they had a wonderful time and we visited a few more times before buying our own pony. The staff were wonderfully supportive in helping our family get ready to become pony owners and gave the girls important skills to help care for our pony. They were polite and supportive and did everything they could to accommodate our expectations and wishes.~ Kasey (Parent)
Katy shows us techniques used to connect with her ponies, through a hands on approach. Witnessing these connections with individuals has been a true delight. There is always smiles of achievement at pony pals, with ponies being led to walk, jumping ponies, treasure hunts, dress up, presenting at local shows and training ponies to stand on a tyre stool. All accomplished by participants of the program. And at the end of the year we all have a Pony Party with pony games and a lot of fun!~ Lara (Support Worker, R.E.D Inc.)
Awesome place , my 2 girls 9 and 12 absolutely loved it . Excellent value for money, can't wait to come back next holiday.~ Tracy (Parent)
I have recommended this business to a number of people. If we lived closer we would definitely consider their pony parties! The ponies themselves were well behaved and I felt very safe having my children around them, especially because I could tell they were being handled by owners who cared about and understood their animals unlike some led pony operators who are just out to make buck.~ Kasey (Parent)
Each week, the group from R.E.D Inc. (our disability service) looks forward to their time with Pony Pals. Katy's special touch brings forth lovely qualities from her ponies expressed through performing fun circus tricks, patience during grooming and dress-ups, and happily going for walks with our people who have various ranges of disability, with some requiring wheel chairs for movement. Her ponies respond beautifully to requests for kisses and hugs. I would recommend Pony Pals for any event to celebrate with those who need a more gentle experience.~ Megan (Support Worker, R.E.D Inc.)
